Room Cost

The convention has obtained a special rate of $109 ($139 for Regency rooms) per night for single, double, triple, or quadruple occupancy. There is no extra charge for a roll-away bed. Taxes of 9.5% plus $1.13 local fees will be added to each night's lodging charge.

Update! The Hyatt Regency has reduced the rate for Regency rooms to $139 (plus tax) per night from $145 (plus tax) per night. The extra $30 per night includes additional amenities and some food. Room Availability

The convention room rate is available for for the nights of June 30 - July 3; if the hotel has space, this rate is also available June 26 - June 29 and July 4 - July 7. Please use the hotel's on-line checking link to check the availability of rooms. If rooms at the convention rate are not available or if you have any difficulty making a reservation, please contact Bob Plageman or Niel Chichizola at the phone numbers given below.

Check-in time is after 3:00PM. Checkout time is 12 noon.

Why Stay In the Hotel

Staying in the hotel is much more convenient, and helps to keep the convention's cost for the facility (which determines the prices charged for admission and the table rental cost) low. As important, you don't have to drive to get from your room to the meet, or if you need something in your room, make a round trip by car from the meet to your room and back again. Lastly, once parked (all parking is free), your parking worries are over unless you go out for a meal or for layout visits.

Sharing a Room

Do you want to share a room with someone? We will help by listing those who have a room to share and those who are looking for a room to share. If you see a listing for someone you want to share with, let us know and we will provide you with the contact information for that person so that you can discuss sharing directly with them and make your own arrangements with them.

Here are the people looking to share:

ED has a room reserved, will be there Wed-Sat. You shouldn't be a smoker and must be willing to not charge anything such as food to the room. This person will be arriving on the Northbound Coast Starlight on Wednesday, June 30, and would like to share the cab ride to the hotel.

Regency Club

The Regency Club room rate is $145 for a Regency King or a Regency Double. You might want to consider this level of room because some meals are included in the room charge which, depending upon your eating patterns, may cost you less than staying in a regular room at $109 and paying for meals in the hotel restaurant.

Parking

There is no charge for do-it-yourself parking. There is a DIY lot in front of the hotel and a free multi-level garage behind the hotel. If you wish to use valet parking, there is a $5 per car charge.

Porterage

The hotel offers assistance with luggage pick-up, delivery, and storage. The charge per person per round trip is $4.

Shipping Items to Yourself at the Hotel

If you are staying at the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara (highly recommended), you can ship parcels to yourself there; the hotel charge to receive the parcels and deliver them to you is extremely reasonable. The per box charge for the hotel to receive boxes weighing less than 50 pounds is $2; if the box weighs more than 50 pounds, the charge is negotiated.

Please time your shipments so your boxes arrive at the hotel no earlier than June 28.

At the conclusion of the convention, by pre-arrangement made one week in advance, the hotel will ship boxes for you at the same rate (plus the carrier's charge); the charges will be billed to your room. Note that there is a UPS Store adjacent to the ballroom.
